On one summer night, everything changed.
Life in Samantha Reed's home is neat and clean and orderly - precisely planned by her local politician mother. Next door, at the Garretts', things are loud, messy, and irresistible. And when gorgeous Jase Garrett climbs the trellis outside her bedroom and enters her life, she finds herself falling passionately in love with him and everything he brings with him. The only hitch is, she's got to hide it from her mother. Then something unthinkable happens, and Samantha is suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

My Rating: 5/5

This book captivates you from the get go. Seriously, as soon as I started it, I just couldn't put it down. I had high hopes from this novel because I had read many other reviews from other book bloggers that had put this book into the high expectations mark. So I was not disappointed when I finally got my hands on a copy. The story was great. The romance was epic and I was definitely surprised by the slight plot twist that happened near the middle-end of the book. I just remember thinking Oh My God and trying to keep myself from hurrying through to find out what happens.
“You have to kiss me," I find myself saying.
"Yeah." He leans closer. "I do.”
Huntley Fitzpatrick did an amazing job when creating her characters. Now there were times when I did get slightly annoyed by Samantha's character, but I understood why she was like that. Especially when reminding myself on how her mother was. And the romance that she had with Jase Garrett was so down right adorable that I just couldn't get enough of it. What also worked well was how the pace of the relationship started. It didn't just get slammed in your face on how in love they were, instead it worked up to it. But what I loved most about the book was the family dynamic of the Garretts'. I was so drawn in when the whole family was involved, because I just loved how much you could tell how close this family was from just a few lines. It was just overwhelmingly adorable.
“It's as though I don't make a ripple as I drop off the face of the earth.”
Seriously if you are looking for a fun and great contemporary read, you should definitely give this book a try. It is just phenomenal.
I can't wait to get more books of Huntley Fitzpatrick because from this book alone she is definitely becoming one of my top favourite authors.
